IV Therapy For Cancer
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S., second only to heart disease. A cancer diagnosis can be emotionally, physically and financially devastating on the patients with cancer and their family and their friends too. At Conscious Human Medicine, we understand how challenging this is for you and work together with you, your loved ones and your medical team to come up with treatment strategies to eradicate cancer in your body and improve the quality of your life.
Intravenous high-dose vitamin C (IVC) is an amazing treatment offered at Conscious Human Medicine which has been shown to eradicate cancer, improve quality of life and extend life inpatients with cancer. High dose IVC has also been shown to greatly mitigate many of the unwanted side effects of chemotherapy and radiation and actually may make chemotherapy more effective with less agent needed to exact the same effects on cancer.
You may be asking "Why can't I just take large doses of vitamin C orally?" When we take in vitamin C orally, our bodies normally absorb it through the small intestine, where the majority of nutrients are absorbed. When vitamin C is taken orally in higher amounts through “mega-dosing”, these dosages are often ill-tolerated and the result can be uncomfortable gastrointestinal upset, gas, bloating and diarrhea. However, high-dose intravenous vitamin C is administered directly into the body through an “IV infusion." This helps to bypass the gastrointestinal tract completely and mitigate these side effects.
At Conscious Human Medicine, a typical high-dose IVC treatment contains between 50 – 100 grams of vitamin C and takes anywhere from 1-3 hours to administer, depending on a variety of factors. Unlike many other cancer treatments, high-dose IVC has minimal to no side effects.
High-dose IVC has been demonstrated in clinical research to benefit many different types of cancer including glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, colon cancer and pancreatic cancer and may help many other types of cancer including breast cancer, prostate cancer and ovarian cancer.
As part of an individualized, comprehensive naturopathic treatment regimen, high dose IVC is very often just one component of a protocol for our patients struggling with cancer. Dietary interventions, botanical medicine, other intravenous nutritional treatments and metabolic therapies, like hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), are also considered.
